Description
Crispy air fryer fish nuggets made with tilapia or cod. A quick and healthy alternative to deep-fried fish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb tilapia or cod fillets, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil or cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
- Mix flour with salt, black pepper, and cayenne in a shallow bowl.
- Beat eggs in a second bowl.
- Combine panko, paprika, and garlic powder in a third bowl.
- Dredge each fish piece in flour, dip in eggs, then coat with panko mixture.
- Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket with oil.
- Place fish nuggets in a single layer in the basket.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, spray nuggets lightly with oil before air frying.
- Use fresh or thawed fish for best results.
- Adjust cooking time if using thicker fish fillets.
- Double the batch and freeze extras for quick meals.
