Description

Light and airy French cheese puffs made with herbs and baked in an air fryer for a crispy exterior and soft interior.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil.
  3. Remove from heat and add flour, stirring quickly until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Let the dough cool slightly, then beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  5. Stir in cheese, chives, thyme, and black pepper.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized mounds of dough onto parchment-lined air fryer basket.
  7. Air fry for 12-15 minutes until golden and puffed.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use room-temperature eggs for easier mixing.
  • Do not open the air fryer during cooking to prevent deflating.
