Description
Light and airy French cheese puffs made with herbs and baked in an air fryer for a crispy exterior and soft interior.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil.
- Remove from heat and add flour, stirring quickly until a smooth dough forms.
- Let the dough cool slightly, then beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
- Stir in cheese, chives, thyme, and black pepper.
- Drop tablespoon-sized mounds of dough onto parchment-lined air fryer basket.
- Air fry for 12-15 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Use room-temperature eggs for easier mixing.
- Do not open the air fryer during cooking to prevent deflating.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
