Description
Crispy morel mushroom nuggets made in the air fryer for a healthier twist on a classic snack.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh morel mushrooms, cleaned and halved
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Dip mushroom pieces in beaten egg, then coat with flour mixture.
- Dip again in egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Lightly spray or brush mushrooms with olive oil.
- Place mushrooms in air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, spray mushrooms lightly with oil before air frying.
- Use panko breadcrumbs for a crunchier texture.
- If mushrooms are large, cut them into smaller pieces for even cooking.
