Description

Crispy, tangy orange chicken made easily in your air fryer. A healthier version of the takeout favorite.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp chopped green onions


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic to make the marinade.
  2. Add chicken pieces to the marinade and let sit for 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Drain chicken from marinade and toss with cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
  5. Place chicken in air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 12 minutes, flipping halfway.
  6. While chicken cooks, simmer remaining marinade in a saucepan until thickened.
  7. Toss cooked chicken with sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

  • Cut chicken into even pieces for uniform cooking.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket.
  • Save some sauce for dipping if desired.
