Description
A quick and crispy tuna melt made in the air fryer for a healthier twist on the classic sandwich.
Ingredients
- 1 can (5 oz) tuna in water, drained
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp diced celery
- 1 tbsp diced red onion
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 slices whole wheat bread
- 2 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp butter, softened
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
- Mix tuna, mayonnaise, celery, red onion, mustard, and black pepper in a bowl.
- Spread the tuna mixture on one slice of bread and top with cheese.
- Place the second slice of bread on top and lightly butter the outside of both slices.
- Put the sandwich in the air fryer basket and cook for 4-5 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Remove and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use any cheese you prefer, like Swiss or pepper jack.
- Add pickles or jalapeños for extra flavor.
- For a crispier sandwich, increase cooking time by 1-2 minutes.
