Description

A quick and crispy tuna melt made in the air fryer for a healthier twist on the classic sandwich.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (5 oz) tuna in water, drained
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp diced celery
  • 1 tbsp diced red onion
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 slices whole wheat bread
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter, softened


Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. Mix tuna, mayonnaise, celery, red onion, mustard, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Spread the tuna mixture on one slice of bread and top with cheese.
  4. Place the second slice of bread on top and lightly butter the outside of both slices.
  5. Put the sandwich in the air fryer basket and cook for 4-5 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  6. Remove and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use any cheese you prefer, like Swiss or pepper jack.
  • Add pickles or jalapeños for extra flavor.
  • For a crispier sandwich, increase cooking time by 1-2 minutes.
