Description
Crispy vegan mac-and-cheese sticks made in an air fryer. A quick and easy snack with a creamy dairy-free cheese center.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni
- 1 cup vegan cheddar cheese shreds
- 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Mix cooked macaroni, vegan cheese, almond milk, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Spread the mixture in a lined dish and refrigerate for 1 hour to firm up.
- Cut into stick shapes.
- Roll each stick in breadcrumbs and drizzle with olive oil.
- Place sticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry at 375°F for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Chilling the mixture makes it easier to shape.
- Use gluten-free breadcrumbs if needed.
- For extra crispiness, spray sticks lightly with oil before air frying.
