Description

A comforting dish of thinly sliced potatoes layered with creamy cheese sauce and baked to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Butter a baking dish.
  3. Layer half the potatoes in the dish.
  4. Sprinkle half the cheese over potatoes.
  5. Repeat with remaining potatoes and cheese.
  6. Mix cream, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  7. Pour mixture over potatoes.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake 15 more minutes until golden.
  10. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
