Ingredients

  • 500g boneless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (optional)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper.
  2. Dip chicken pieces in beaten egg, then coat with the flour mixture.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry chicken until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  4. In a separate pan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, orange zest, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Toss fried chicken in the orange sauce until evenly coated.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
