Description
A quick and easy air fryer version of chicken parmesan with a crispy coating and melted cheese, perfect for a festive Christmas meal.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix breadcrumbs, parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
- Dip chicken in beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.
- Lightly spray or brush chicken with olive oil.
- Place chicken in air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes.
- Flip chicken, top with marinara and mozzarella, and cook for 5 more minutes.
- Check internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, lightly spray breaded chicken with oil before air frying.
- Use panko breadcrumbs for a crunchier texture.
- Serve with pasta or a side salad for a complete meal.
