Description
Crispy air-fryer Indian fry bread topped with festive taco fillings for a quick Christmas meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
Instructions
- Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Add warm water and oil; knead into a soft dough.
- Divide dough into 6 balls, roll each into a flat circle.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Air fry each bread for 4-5 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Brown ground meat in a pan, add taco seasoning and water; simmer.
- Top fry bread with meat, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and cilantro.
Notes
- Dough can be made ahead and stored in the fridge.
- Use leftover chicken or beans for a vegetarian option.
- Serve immediately for best texture.
